Following on from their 250th episode in June there’s plenty to look forward to in the month of August on Thursday nights on The Music Almanac.

It’s an all Australian music month for the show on Triple H 100.1FM as host Rufus Onfire digs into the archives to offer up a smorgasbord of songs and great tunes to get your ears humming.

Classic tracks, current hits, cool indie classics, emerging artists and timeless tunes, you name it the genre will get a look in when August rolls around and we take a look over more than 5 decades of Antipodean artistry on August 13 & 20. And as an extra treat the month of shows will be bookended by 2 Music Almanac Artist Profiles on iconic artists worthy of such a gong.
Week 1 sees The Music Almanac profile one of their favourite Aussie artists and ARIA Hall Of Famers The Church. Now in their 4th decade as a collective unit, Rufus will dive into their collection of recorded works to soundtrack the story of a band that has endured with a devoted fan base both here and abroad. One not to miss on August 6.

And the month of All Things Aussie gets rounded out with a long overdue Artist Profile on the one and only Radio Birdman. Groundbreaking, iconic, critically acclaimed are just some of the accolades that could be used to described “Birdman”, and some may say 2 hours isn’t enough to do their musical story and legacy justice for these ARIA Hall Of Famers, which should make a jam packed show of great music come August 28 to round things out.
