Radio Azerbaijani is particularly tailored to Australian Azerbaijani Community. I started Radio Azerbaijani in the studios of 2SER FM at 2002 with the purpose of assisting Australian Azerbaijani Community better integrating in mainstream Australian Communities.
One of our other main goals has been promoting Azerbaijani culture, history, language, music and other values with the new generations of our children growing up in Australia. Elderly Azerbaijani parents with poor grasp of English language are particularly enthusiastic when they hear a radio program in their mother language in Sydney. We not only have been involved in interviewing prominent Azerbaijani writers, artists and community personalities, but we have also been involved in planning, and running community picnics, concerts and other events during our 15 years of history.
Due to the closure of all community radios at our previous radio station, we moved to 2HHH at April 2016. We have been presenting our program between 5:00 till 7:00 pm every Saturday evening since then. We have been actively involved in 2HHH community engagement activities along with presenting our program and looking forward to do so in years to come.
Photos are relating to our interview with “Mrs. Semineh Bagcheban” from USA and “Mr. Rahmani” from Sweden, both prominent Azerbaijani and Iranian writers during their visit to Australia. Names of the members of our team at the photo are; Mahmoud; Barish; Vida and Ghahreman.
