Are you a true blue Aussie? Are you looking for some classic Australia Day fun?
Bring your family and friends to the Australia Day celebrations on Friday 26 January
10am – 1.30pm at Hornsby Mall.
The Lions Club will be serving up a tasty BBQ (gold coin donation), with proceeds going to local charitiesWalk, Talk and Fly (which supports Children with Cerebral Palsy) and Hornsby Connect (Counselling Services).
“The day is about celebrating what is good about our nation and why we are proud to live in this great country,” Hornsby Shire Mayor Philip Ruddock said.
“Australia Day is a time for us to reflect upon what it means to be an Australian and celebrate our community and cultural diversity.”
Enjoy the day with free live, local entertainment. Various multicultural choirs will keep you entertained with their songs and dance performances.
Bring your dancing shoes and join a Zumba dance session. Kids can also have fun with the Bollywood dance workshop.
Hornsby’s best face painters will be there to transform the kids into their favourite superheroes and characters while they enjoy the ticketed rides that are on offer.
Australia Day wouldn’t be complete without a didgeridoo performance by Hornsby’s PCYC Peter Kirkwood and Australian folk songs written and performed by the talented Jennifer Lees and Mick Gallagher.
